and parts of Omaheke as well as its capital Windhoek. The area varies between Bushveld
and desert along its west coast. Included in the area is the Namib-Naukluft National Park

Spend a few days in Windhoek if you are in the area. It still has a certain
atmosphere stemming from German colonial era. This can be seen in the architecture of
the "Alte Feste" which used to be a German fort, the "Tintenpalast", which today houses
the Namibian legislature, or the "Christus Kirche". Many of the old houses in Windhoek also
have a distinctly German colonial style. For a taste of African bush try the Daan Viljoen
Game Reserve just west of Windhoek.
