Namibia's northern areas are some of its most fascinating. While its
western side is mostly desert, the more one travels to the west the more bush and
vegetation there is. This is also applicable to the wildlife. The area includes the
Caprivi Strip which dates back to 1890 and was named after the German chancellor Leo
von Caprivi. The northern areas of Namibia are bordered by Angola and Zambia in the
north, and Botswana in the south.

A trip along its western coastline past the huge Seal colonies at Cape
Cross and up the Skeleton Coast is an unforgettable experience. Here wrecks of ships
may be found in the desert as the sand has claimed parts of the ocean. For wildlife
viewing there is the world famous Etosha National Park with its great shallow pan.
Moving further east one can see the giant Hoba Meteorite near Grootfontain and the
Poppa Falls cascades located just at the entrance to the Caprivi Strip.
