The town of Graaff-Reinet / Camdeboo is situated in the Cacadu District of South Africa's Eastern Cape Province. The town dates back to 1786 and lies in an area rich in history and culture. It is the fourth oldest town in the country and is situated in South Africa's arid Karoo region. Probably one of the towns most famous landmarks must be the Dutch Reformed Church in the center that dates back to about 1887. The town contains a variety of monuments, art galleries and museums with a distinctive Karoo architecture. Many of its old Karoo houses, with their brightly painted shutters and doors have been restored and can be seen in a street known as Stretch's Court.
