Lady Grey is a picturesque little town approximately 55km east of Aliwal-North on the R58. To its North, East and South are the Witteberg mountains. These consist of a type of Sandstone, that is very similar to that found in the Clarens area. It's a lovely place to relax and just enjoy the scenery or to try your skills at Fly Fishing. Horse Riding and Off Road Biking can also be enjoyed. Just outside town to the east is Lady Grey's water reservoir which also contains some shady picnic spots. There is a trail leading to the top of the dam wall which offers some great views of the surrounds.

The old NG Kerk (Dutch Reformed Church) in town is quite interesting to have a look at, and there are also a number of historic sites such as the Nagmaal Huisie and David Ross High School Museum/Exhibition that one may visit. For a quite relaxing gettaway, Lady Grey is definitely an option.
