The Lesoba hiking trail is situated between Clarens and Fouriesburg along the border with Lesotho.
The warmer months are best to visit if doing the hike, as the area can get snow in winter.
Essentially the Lesoba hike comprises two one day hikes that are done from the base camp.
The base camp is well equipped with all the amenities. It's a lovely hike that is not too
strenuous, yet very scenic. From the top of some of the rock ledges one can look far down below and
across the Caledon River into Lesotho. The trail takes one through gorges, along cliff faces, and
across grassy plains. On both days the views are quite spectacular.

For a great weekend away while enjoying nature and not having to carry a heavy backpack, the
Lesoba hiking trail is just the thing. The base camp is very comfortable, and in the evenings one
can relax around a campfire with ones friends. The trail on both days is really beautiful with the
typical Golden Gate, Clarens area rock formations. Along the trail one comes across numerous
smaller and larger rock overhangs which make for great resting spots. Take enough water with, as
there is not much along the routes.
