Mpumalanga is considered by many as a sort of holiday province. This is
mainly due to the lovely scenery in its eastern parts. Here along with the mountains and
hills are many waterfalls, rivers and streams. Along with the forests, this is what
gives it its special character. The area around the little town of Sabie is particularly
popular, and places such as Pilgrims Rest have been turned into theme villages depicting
the bygone days of the gold rush to this area.
