The Dias Museum Complex is situated in the town of Mossel Bay.
The complex consists of buildings for the Maritime Museum with the replica of the Dias caravel,
the Shell Museum with a big variety of shells and the Granary which now serves as reception.
The Maritime Museum displays not only the caravel but also old maps, navigational instruments and
other aspects of maritime history.
The other big attraction is the famous Post Office Tree, a large Milkwood tree.
Sailors used to leave their messages in an old shoe, nowadays you can drop your mail into a stone
shoe and it will be sent out with a special frank.
