Namibia - South - Kokerboom Forest/Quiver Tree Forest

The Kokerboom Forest/Quiver Tree Forest is situated close to Keetmanshoop.
The Kokerboom or Quiver tree is actually not a tree but an Aloe. Normally it grows singly, but this area is one of the few areas where you find them in quite a large number so you may call it a forest. All those Quiver trees make quite an impressive sight. They flower during the winter months which is around June/July.
Only a few km's away is the Giants Playground with interesting rock formations.

The entrance fee that is payable at the Kokerboom Forest/Quiver Tree Forest includes the Giants Playground as well. The homestead on whose property these two places are, contains some interesting tame animals, such as an Eland and a big Warthog. If travelling to Keetmanshoop in Namibia, these two places are worth a visit!
