Lamberts Bay is situated on the West Coast of South Africa (West of Clanwilliam).
The most famous place in Lamberts Bay is Bird Island which is in walking distance from town.
From the lookout you can watch thousands of Cape Gannets and other birds like cormorants and penguins.
On Bird Island you also find a visitor centre with lot of information about the West Coast fauna and a penguin pool.
Next to Bird Island lies the sheltered harbour with fishing boats and other vessels.

Lamberts Bay is a very well developed tourist destination with hotels, self catering accommodation and guest houses to choose from.
A range of shops, very good seafood restaurants are present in Lamberts Bay.
It is a very pleasant place to spend some time,
but being on the Atlantic side of South Africa, swimming in the sea tends to be on the cold side.
